Local Company Receives National Recognition

A breath of fresh air has arrived in the interior decorating world—and it encourages you to pick up a brush and have some creative fun. Reusable stencils are an eco-friendly replacement for wallpaper and have become all the rage for DIY dabblers and experts. Leading that trend is a Twin Cities-based company, Gypsy Mint Stencil Co.

In just a few years, Gypsy Mint Stencil Co. has quickly made a name for themselves and gained a large online and local following. Founded by Kelly Fee and Peg Malanaphy, business experts with backgrounds in fine arts and interior design, this inspiring stencil company has created hundreds of unique patterns for their online shop and custom projects.

More than just a décor company, Gypsy Mint was also founded with philanthropic values. Kelly and Peg give back locally and globally by donating a portion of stencil proceeds to Secondhand Hounds, a Minnesota animal rescue, and an international organization based in Morocco that helps further young women and their educational efforts.

These incredible women aren’t just charitable and stylish, they’re also extremely dedicated to customer satisfaction and delivering high-quality service. In 2018, Peg was nominated for Business Woman of the Year. Making national news, their company was featured in the July/August issue of Martha Stewart Living Magazine. Two of Gypsy’s stencils were used in a very fun manner – painted on a floor canvas and a shower curtain. “This is not the typical use of our stencils, but we are always surprised to see how our client’s creativity will come through by using our products,” states founder Peg Malanaphy. “We’re excited to be featured in this wonderful magazine.”

With boundless creativity and industry-savvy experience, Kelly and Peg really love to spread their patterns to all.
